Volunteers Needed for Red Shoe Day Fundraiser Benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego

Volunteers are needed to help collect donations at San Diego County intersections during Red Shoe Day, June 28 - the biggest fundraising event for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego is looking for volunteers to “put their best shoe forward” and help collect donations at La Mesa intersections during the charity’s third annual Red Shoe Day.

On Thursday, June 28 from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. volunteers will be stationed at nearly 150 major intersections throughout the county to collect cash donations in iconic size-14 red shoes. Volunteers are encouraged to have fun during their service by making signs, wearing crazy wigs, making noise and collecting a “shoe-load” of contributions for the charity, which offers a range of services – including meals, lodging and emotional support – to the families of critically ill or injured children being treated at San Diego-area hospitals.

You can get involved by participating on a street team the morning of Red Shoe Day, or by creating a personal fundraising page where your friends and family can donate online. Visit www.razoo.com/team/red-shoe-day to create an account and start your page. If you’d rather hit the streets to show your support, sign up as a street team member at www.rmhcsd.org/redshoeday
