Community Meeting with LMPD: 7-Eleven on Palm Ave Re-locating Across the St.

Neighborhood meeting with La Mesa PD Next Week. Topics to Include 7 Eleven and Crime.

A few months ago, our community petitioned against a 7-Eleven moving into our neighborhood because of safety concerns. The other 7 Eleven in our area (Palm Ave), which recently closed to our relief, was robbed twice within 24hrs on February and then again on May.

After several months of back and forth communication between our neighborhood and the City of La Mesa, everything indicates the new 7 Eleven will be approved at 4200 Spring St.  La Mesa Police Dept. initially objected the alcohol license but now has withdrawn their objection, provided they sell alcohol only from 6AM to 12 Midnight.

The result of lack of attention to our needs and security concerns in our community led us to demand a meeting with the LMPD. Some of you have followed our case closely. We'll be posting more after our meeting on Sept. 4th with the LMPD.
