Helix Students Support Boston!

Helix students send words of encouragement to the people of Boston.

Helix Charter High School junior Gillian Morgan, along with her classmates, wanted to do something for the people of the city of Boston following the tragic incidents surrounding the bombing at the Boston Marathon. Morgan planned an event for the students at Helix to give them the opportunity to write notes of encouragement on a poster made by Helix Associated Student Body (ASB). The posters will be sent to Boston mayor Thomas Menino.

Some of the messages read: "Best wishes from a future marine", "Our prayers go out to you", "Your city is awesome and never give up, even when times seem hard", and "SD stands with Boston"

"This event not only will show the people of Boston that support for them comes from as far away as a La Mesa high school," said ASB Advisor Kayla Bulster, "but it also empowers our students to do something to change their world for the better."
