2 La Mesa Teams Triumph in AYSO Area Tournament of Champions
The Golden Eagles and Purple Crush won final matches in the TOC to advance to the Sectional TOC in February 2012.
Playing over two successive December weekends, the top boys and girls teams from La Mesa AYSO’s under 10 to under 14 age brackets competed with other local teams in the AYSO Area 11v Tournament of Champions (TOC).
After three games, those with the highest point totals would advance to semifinal and final games. The struggles on the field were spirited and sometimes fierce, and in the end two of the La Mesa AYSO teams—the BU12 Golden Eagles and GU12 Purple Crush—emerged as area champions who will now compete in the Sectional TOC in Orange County in February 2012.
The Golden Eagles had to play their final championship match against another La Mesa team, the Blue Lightning. Congratulations to all La Mesa TOC teams for a great series of games. Best of luck and skill to the Golden Eagles and Purple Crush!
