Regal Cinemas Plays "The Stream," Raising Funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of America

The Dreaming Tree Foundation and AT&T joined forces to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of America by supporting the organization’s youth development programs. AT&T sponsored the making of this film, as part of the company’s Aspire campaign, a $350 million initiative to help students graduate from high school ready for college and careers.

Nearly 200 kids from Boys & Girls Clubs around the country received the opportunity to work behind the camera or in the editing bay alongside film pros and celebrity actors such as Christopher Gorham, Kelly Rutherford, Mario Lopez and Rainn Wilson to produce the coming-of-age family comedy, “The Stream.” This unique film will be released in select Regal theatres across the nation beginning October 18th, 2013, including the Regal Parkway Plaza Stadium 18 & IMAX located at 405 Parkway Plaza, El Cajon, 92020.

“This project is just one example of the socially innovative efforts AT&T is supporting through Aspire, our $350 million initiative to help students graduate from high school ready for college and careers,” said Randal Okamura, director of external affairs for AT&T San Diego.

The film will directly benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) with the majority of all producer revenues given to BGCA to support the organization’s youth development programs. The teen crews also filmed several Public Service Announcements for the “It Can Wait” no-texting-while-driving campaign. One of these announcements, developed by students in Lowell, MA., can be seen in theaters with the film.
