Grossmont College Hosts Fundraising Walk-a-Thon and Craft Fair

EL CAJON – Walk or run for a good cause to support Grossmont College’s Office Professional Training program, which has trained more than 2,200 people in its 26-year history.
The 5K Walk-a-Thon and Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon April 13 on the Grossmont College campus. Registration for the Walk-a-Thon begins at 8:30 a.m. in parking lot 7. Each participant will be entered into a drawing for a variety of prizes.
Cost for registering on the day of the event is $25 for adults and $3 for children. If you pre-pay, the cost is $20 for adults and $3 for children. Contact Mary Leslie at (619) 644-7533 or mary.leslie@gcccd.edu for more information.

The Craft Fair will feature numerous vendors, including Scentsy, Cookie Lee Jewelry, Best Friend Craft Club, Selfridge Photography, GB Accessories, Kakini Leis and Treasures by Trish.
The goal is to raise $2,000 for the OPT program, where students receive training in accounting, banking and financial services, insurance and office administrative support. OPT participants include low-income and at-risk students from a variety of age groups, socioeconomic levels and ethnic backgrounds, including laid-off workers, welfare recipients, single parents, homeless adults and the long-term unemployed.
