Les Miserables presented by Young Actors' Theatre

Under the direction
of Jean Isaac, choreographer Perry Lee, and musical director Jim Tompkins MacClaine,
Young Actors’ Theatre is pleased to announce the upcoming Les Miserables, the beloved tale of hope and despair, commitment,
love, and relationships set against the Paris uprising of 1832.  Featuring ages 7th grade - college,
more than 40 local youth will
stage 8 performances across the
weekends of July 24-27, and August 1-4.
The performances will be held at the Cuyamaca College Performing Arts Theatre,
a venue ideally suited to present this timeless musical material.

This international smash-hit may be the most
popular musical in the world.   Set in 19th century France, Jean Valjean  (Gerardo Flores) is released from 19 years of
unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and
mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating
a life-long struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police
inspector Javert (Perry Lee), who refuses to believe Valjean can change his
ways. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront
his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student
revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean's adopted daughter, Cosette
(Isabella Lenhoff.)  Valjean at last
attains the peace he has sought for so long.

 “Working together with Gerardo, Perry,
Isabella, Jim, and the entire highly talented cast on this show has been a real
personal and professional dream for me, “ said Isaac. “And we are very much
looking forward to taking the stage for the audiences.  This is a highly talented and innovative cast
that brings to life 19th Century France in this truly classic piece
of musical theatre.”
