Shake, Rattle and Roll: Did You Feel The Earthquake?

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake shook East County Saturday morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reports that a 3.1 magnitude earthquake hit about 30 miles south of the border Saturday morning, shaking up parts of East County.

USGS and other agencies placed the epicenter south of La Rumorosa, Baja California, about 80 miles east-southeast of Tijuana and 42 miles south-southwest of Calexico. City News Services says the report was not immediately reviewed by a seismologist, and scientists have warned that electronic descriptions of quakes in Mexico are not always reliable due to incomplete seismic networks there.

The small quake struck at 8:55 a.m.
