Rancho San Diego Library Hosts 10th Anniversary Celebration

The library opened on April 20, 2002 and has since become the eighth busiest San Diego County Library branch with over 350,000 visitors each year checking out over 463,000 books, movies, and music.

The County of San Diego made the following announcement on April 9, 2012:

The , 11555 Via Rancho San Diego, is celebrating their 10th anniversary on April 21 from 11 - 2 p.m. The 10th Anniversary Celebration will feature an author visit, crafts, face painting, refreshments, and remarks by Susan Moore, Deputy Director of San Diego County Library, and Sherry Johnson, founding president of the Friends of the Rancho San Diego Library.

  • 11 a.m.: Meet author Marjorie Hart (Summer at Tiffany)
  • 1:30 p.m.: Bookmark craft and face painting for kids; "Libraries: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow" - remarks and refreshments with Moore and Johnson

The library opened on April 20, 2002 and has since become the eighth busiest San Diego County Library branch with over 350,000 visitors each year checking out over 463,000 books, movies, and music. Serving the second largest population of Middle Eastern immigrants in the United States, and situated blocks from Hillsdale Middle School, the Rancho San Diego Library serves as a sanctuary for local residents of all ages and backgrounds.

"We've had a great ten years and hope that the community joins us on April 21 for a fun-filled day in honor of lifelong learning and the value of the public library," said Branch Manager Brenna Ring.
