The annual La Mesa Flag Day Parade went off a week ago Saturday, as thousands of residents celebreted Old Glory. This year's version was special, as it helped celebrate the city's centennial.

A security guard at Grossmont Center, who was on a late night foot patrol, was beaten by at least two men, La Mesa police said last week. The guard was treated at the scene. The suspects are still at-large.

A bevy of Arco stations in La Mesa, and in other areas of Eat County, could be closing, with USA Gas replacing those stations. Is your preferred gas station one of the ones marked for change?
