It was a week of sadness at Grossmont High School, as longtime football coach Ron Murphy died after battling cancer. The coach was remembered at a touching memorial service.

After receiving doctor's orders that he is being "overworked" former Monte Vista student Nick Cannon, an actor, comedian, and TV/radio host, quit his popular radio show on 92.3 NOW in New York, amid health concerns. Cannon was hospitalized recently with an enlarged ventricle in his heart and blood clots in his lungs.

By far, the biggest story that is on the minds of parents and teachers in the Grossmont Union High School District is that of proposed attendance boundary changes.
