Medical Marijuana Carjacking, Comic-Con Tix, and Discovering Nature

These stories and more as we take a look at the Week in Review on La Mesa-Mount Helix Patch.

At La Mesa-Mount Helix Patch, we know that in your busy lives there may be some stories that you can't read about the day they happen. With the "Week That Was" column, we'll provide a roundup of the most important stories of the week.

The La Mesa City Council last week voted 4-0 (Dave Allan absent) to begin drafting a resolution that would amend the Municipal Code to allow small-scale beer and winemakers within the city. City Manager Dave Witt said the move would move the zoning ordinance "out of the Dark Ages."

Thousands gathered at Mission Trails Park last weekend for the Annual "Explore Mission Trails Day," which helped young kids learn to connect with nature. Thanks to La Mesa Courier editor Pam Crooks for the great photo gallery!

And speaking of The Courier, it was announced last week that the community publication and La Mesa-Mount Helix Patch were becoming media partners, helping to improve local coverage with content sharing.

A woman,23, was shot and carjacked at 69th and Livingston streets in San Diego while delivering medical marijuana. She was shot in the face with a pellet gun. She refused medical treatment. The two suspects are still at large and are described as Hispanic men between 25 and 30 years old.
