Monday, Sept. 12

  • The 2-year-old boy struck by a car in late August on Fletcher Parkway is in a . The boy was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital with severe head and spinal injuries.
  • The La Mesa-Spring Valley school board has two seats available in 2012, and already have expressed interest in the four-year terms, including two seeking re-election.

Tuesday, Sept. 13

  • Deputy Superintendent Scott Patterson says the Grossmont Union High School District “at our disposal” to soften any additional budget cuts from the state later in the year.
  • Peter Cuthbert agrees to for violating elections law 10 months ago when he left his name off the 15,000 postcards he mailed endorsing three challengers for City Council.

  • La Mesans might choose to shop elsewhere should grocery workers as soon as Sunday night. Ralphs and Albertsons have announced that they would shut many stores in Southern California.
