The work week is over, now what? Patch found activities for you to do throughout the entire weekend.

Here are six must-see and things to do in around La Mesa and the rest of East County this weekend.

HELIX CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL 'JUST DANCE' PERFORMANCES

  • What's Up: Helix Charter High School's Dance department will move and groove at two performances showcasing their dance skills.  
  • When: Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Where: Helix Charter High School, 7323 University Avenue, La Mesa.
  • Price: $8pre-sale, $10 at the door.

WINTER WONDER JAM AT CUYAMACA COLLEGE

  • What's Up: Rock out at Winter Wonder Jam. The rock concert will feature local pop rock and alternative bands.
  • When: Friday, Dec. 7 from 7 to 10 p.m.
  • Where: Cuyamaca Performing Arts Theatre, 900 Rancho San Diego Parkway, El Cajon. 
  • Price: $5, an unwrapped toy, or 3 cans of food.

LEMON GROVE ANNUAL BONFIRE

  • What's Up: The annual family event will light a bonfire under the Lemon Grove sky. Activties will include laser tag, horse drawn wagon rides, games, rock climbing, live music, face painting, and more!
  • When:  Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Where: Civic Center Park, 3200 Main Street, Lemon Grove.
  • Price: Free.

LIGHTING AT THE LAKES

  • What's Up: Kick start the holiday season at Santee Lakes. Watch the holiday tree light up the Santee sky. 
  • When: Saturday, Dec. 8 from 4 to 6 p.m.
  • Where: Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve - Lake 1 Gazebo, 9310 Fanita Parkway, Santee
  • Price: Free.

A HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR

  • What's Up: Enjoy a holiday musical, with a twist. The east county based group, the San Diego Festival Chorus and Orchestra will perform their own verson of The Nutcracker Suite.
  • When: Sunday, Dec. 9 from 3 to 5 p.m.
  • Where: College Aveunue Baptist Church, 4747 College Avenue, San Diego.
  • Price: $17 at the door. 

MENORAH LIGHTING AT GROSSMONT CENTER

  • What's Up: Chabad of East County will host a Menorah Lighting. The event will also include crafts, music, raffle, chocolate coins, ventriloquist show, dreidels and more.
  • When: Sunday, Dec. 9 at 4 p.m.
  • Where: Grossmont Center walk way between Bath & Body Works and Jamba Juice, 5500 Grossmont Center Drive, La Mesa.
  • Price: Free.

I heard that the landlord is using that property as a loss and does not care about renters. LooksRead More to me like it could be true. I also heard that a group from Mt Helix is trying to clean up Casa De Oro. Does anyone know for sure?
