Dryer, Warmer Conditions Return After Wednesday's Brief but Significant Rain

Next-week outlook based on National Weather Service projections. Past-week wrap-up of meteorological highs and lows as recorded by La Mesa Mesonet station.

After a year of reporting on a near daily basis, La Mesa Patch’s ‘Weather Window’ has shifted to a once-weekly review of extremes and a projection of next-week conditions. We hope you’ll equally enjoy this new format.

Next-week outlook: The next seven days are expected to be much more stable and seasonal with dry, sunny and warm daytime conditions followed by cool and clear nights. Daytime highs will approach the mid-80s by late week and hover in the upper 50s overnight. No rain is forecast.

For a projection of daily conditions over the next seven days, please visit the La Mesa forecast page of the National Weather Service.

Past-week summary: After an above-average-warmth, summerlike weekend for the 38th annual La Mesa Oktoberfest, high pressure weakened enough to drop temperatures into the upper 60s by Tuesday with the introduction of a cold-air rainstorm reaching Southern California Wednesday afternoon. Declining pressure quickly rebounded along with daytime high temperatures Thursday as dryer, clearer air followed the storm. Friday morning marked the lowest observed temperature since June 2nd.
