Did You Feel Magnitude 3.9 Quake Early Sunday as Some in the County Did?

Weak shaking was reported in San Diego, El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Poway and La Mesa.

Parts of San Diego County were rattled early Sunday by an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.9, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Automated sensors recorded the quake at 12:47 a.m. about six miles southeast of Valle Vista in Riverside County, or about 66 miles north-northeast of San Diego, the agency reported.

Residents in Escondido and Vista reported light shaking to the agency.

Weak shaking was reported in several more areas, including San Diego, El Cajon,
Escondido, Oceanside, Poway and La Mesa.

No damage was reported.
