Last week, we told you when variousl local schools start, gave information on vaccinations, and told you what health grade local schools received for their food facilities.

Further east, a grassroots effort is being undertaken to start a unified school district in Alpine, which would involve the establishment of a local high school. Currently, there is no facility for grades 9-12 in Alpine, and its residents must drive miles west to attend schools in Santee, El Cajon, and La Mesa.
