A not guilty plea was entered by Arlene Hernandez, the South Bay woman who crashed a minivan into Otay Lakes Reservoir last week, in an accident that killed two young girls, including Giuliana Figueroa, 5, from La Mesa. Hernandez is suspected of driving under the influence, though tests have yet to confirm that.

In an ambitious move, the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Commnity College Board approved a facilities bond vote, that would ask for almost $400M.

After the retirement of former fire cheif Mike Scott, Heartland Fire & Rescue named a new chief, Rick Sitta of El Cajon. The name may be the different, but the official "fire chief" mustache remains the same!
