What Do I Do With This Petition If I Don't Want PBID?

Don't sign it. Don't mail it in. This is not our only option. Let's get together and find the solution that works best for all of us.

Hi everyone!

As people have come to me asking questions, I've found the most popular question is:

What Do I Do With This Petition If I Don't Want PBID?

The answer:  Don't Sign It.  Don't Mail It In.

The only petitions that are being collected and counted are the signed petitions - the petitions from property owners that want a PBID.

Let's have a public meeting to talk about PBID — or alternative plans.

Every La Mesan should have an oppportunity to discuss, ask questions, air their concerns.

One big misconception is that without PBID the Streetscape Improvement Project won't happen.  That is not true.  The Streetscape Improvement Project will happen — to what degree we don't know as there isn't an alernative design from the engineers yet.

By saying NO to this PBID we can work on a more simple plan - one that only addresses Maintenance.  We don't have to pay so much money!

Imagine a budget of $65,000 vs $378,100  (only 17%)

City of La Mesa will pay $10,000ish vs. $60,000ish

Annual assessments of $5,000 would drop down to $860

Annual assessments of $800 would drop down to $138

This could be the answer we all are looking for — and what we all can afford.

If you would like to have a community meeting please respond to this blog, or email:  deena55@cox.net  or call 619 992-6240

Once I know how many people are interested, I can find a location to host it.

Thank you, everyone!
