Maintenance for the New Streetscape Improvement Project

All village merchants, residents, property owners and anyone with an interest should plan to attend our first "Meeting of the People" on Tuesday, August 7, at 6:30pm at Sanfilippo's Pizza.

I can't wait to begin new talks and new plans for the maintenance of the Steetscape Improvement Project.  We need to start fresh but carry with us the lessons learned thus far:

1) Everyone should have a voice.

My hope is that our village merchants, residents, property owners, any and all, will come together to discuss ways to meet the needs of maintaining the streetscape improvement project above and beyond the baseline services the city currently provides.

2) The Economy Does Affect How Much Businesses Can Afford

With the interest of keeping costs down, providing the bare necessities, we can come together with a plan that will work for everyone now and maybe increase services in the future.

3) The reason past Village BIDs and PBIDs have failed.

We need to go into the talks open-minded.  The plan needs to be flexible.  The end should not be set in concrete before the committee work begins.  The work should adjust from the input of the community.  The end should really be a mystery, no preconceived ideas.  Let it work itself out.

All village merchants, residents, property owners, and anyone with an interest should plan to attend our first "Meeting of the People" on Tuesday, August 7, at 6:30pm at Sanfilippo's Pizza.  This will be a brain-storming meeting, to see what other options we can come up with.  Bring your ideas on how we can meet the need of the Streetscape Improvement Project maintenance, in a way that we all can afford.

Please RSVP (deena55@cox.net or 619 992-6240) so we know how many people are attending this meeting.  Food will be served, if you want to eat please bring $5 per person to help offset the cost of food.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
