At the August 14 , the city approved moving forward with the Streetscape Improvement Project, yet it is unknown at this time when the project will begin, or what amenities will be included in the project.
Originally the city asked for a mechanism to be in place to maintain the new amenities, above and beyond what the city currently provides. The PBID committee budgeted $65,000 for maintenance, then quickly escalated to $378,100, to include other services such as marketing, security, etc.

As you are aware, the PBID (Property-Based Business Improvement District) has not achieved the 50% + a penny needed to continue. We believe this was due, in part, to the excessive assessments. We invite all village community members to a series of meetings where we can openly discuss viable alternatives to the PBID. We have no preconceived solution, we are looking to our community to come up with the solution that will work for us all.
We invite you to join us in discussions about how we can reduce the cost and financially achieve this request from our city. Your ideas are greatly needed. There is a right answer, and together we will find it.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept 5 at 6:30 at located at 8141 La Mesa Blvd. If you are unable to attend please send your suggestions so they can be included in the evening discussions.
We look forward to meeting and working with you on this village project.
