August 5, 2013 - Coldwell Banker La Mesa and Recycle San Diego have aligned to host a free eWaste recycling event on Saturday, August 24th from 10am-2pm in the Coldwell Banker parking lot at 9332 Fuerte Dr, next to the Brigantine Seafood restaurant.
Less than 20% of obsolete computers, laptops, and related electronic equipment are recycled. The vast majority gets dumped in landfills where mercury and other toxic materials can potentially contaminate ground water. Recycle San Diego offers a free and easy way for people to dispose of their eWaste responsibly and legally. By managing this eWaste event, RSD will be able to divert thousands of pounds of eWaste from local landfills and give the friends and neighbors of Coldwell Banker La Mesa an opportunity to do something beneficial for their community.
Items that can be recycled include: computers, monitors, TVs, laptops, cables, printers, fax machines, scanners, DVD players, VCRs, and other electronic items.

Recycle San Diego wishes to remind the public that it is illegal to dispose of e-Waste in the trash and California requires that companies recycle their e-Waste. California currently has the most comprehensive landfill ban in the nation, curbing both the illegal disposal and export of the largest category of toxic electronics which includes CRT TVs and computer monitors.
Since 2006 Recycle San Diego has recycled more than 7.5 million pounds of eWaste and serviced over 50,000 customers. We believe in safe, environmentally friendly ways to reuse, repurpose, and recycle electronics of all types. “We recycle anything that plugs in or runs on batteries!”
