Sunset Over Grossmont Center: Holiday Reds and Oranges Frame Shops

A view from the parking garage at Sharp Grossmont Hospital shows Tuesday's 4:42 p.m. sunset in all its red-and-orange glory.  Looking west across Grossmont Center, hospital-goers can see a bright glow as the days wane in daylight.  The The Northern Hemisphere's winter solstice is Dec. 22 this year—when the North Pole is tilted 23.5 degrees away from the sun. The sun is overhead on the Tropic of Capricorn in the Southern Hemisphere during the December solstice. Those living south from the Antarctic Circle towards the South Pole will see the midnight sun during this time of the year. But we prefer the La Mesa sun.
