Recent Rise in Crude-Oil Process Fueling Recent Increases at the Pump

Self-serve regular gasoline costing 2 cents more now that a week ago, according to latest data.

La Mesans have seen gasoline prices go back up in the past few days after more than two weeks of decline.
 
The ARCO station at 9600 Murray Dr. near Grossmont Boulevard was selling self-service regular for $3.63 Thursday.

The ARCOs at 7594 University and 7974 University were selling regular for $3.65, according to GasBuddy.com, which reflects prices within the past 24 hours.

The cash price for regular at Emerald Oil at 5600 Baltimore Drive and Lke Murray Boulevard and the Shell State at 9090 Dallas Street at Fletcher Parkway were selling regular for $3.75
 
The average price is 2 cents more than one week ago and 63 cents higher than at this time last year, but 8 cents lower than a month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
 
The rising pump prices reflect recent increases in the price of crude oil.
The price of a barrel was at $79.30 on Aug. 9, the lowest since Sept. 29, rose to $85.54 Tuesday, then fell to $85.16 Wednesday.
 
The average price in the country, $3.58. The average in California is $3.73, according to figures from the AAA.
