Driving at night, La Mesans may have noticed some new businesses in town—ICE DEPOT, RON BROTHERS ARTS MART, E BILLIARDS. In truth, at least nine lighted signs within a few blocks of the Jackson Drive-Fletcher Parkway intersection are merely missing letters. The city's landmark Grossmont Center sign above them still lacks the final R after weeks. Target drops an E, and Petco looks like a physical education resource as PE CO. A computer repair shop advertises itself as "Co."
