La Mesa Firm Fined Following Fatal Tree-Triming Accident

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, better known as Cal/OSHA, fined La Mesa-based Three Frogs Inc. $91,865 following a fatal tree-trimming accident.

The Daily Transcript reported that Joshua Alan Pudsey, a 42-year-old employee, was killed in November when he was struck by a section of a eucalyptus tree he was helping to remove on the 4400 block of Date Avenue in La Mesa.

Pudsey had been working as a general construction for Three Frogs for 3 months when the accident occurred, according to the publication.

Cal/OSHA determined neither Pudsey nor any of the other construction laborers employed by Three Frogs, Inc. had the experience or training needed to safely cut down a tree of that size, according to NBC7.
