Get 'Em While They're Hotcakes: IHOP Serving Free Short Stacks on Tuesday

Chain hopes to raise $2.3 million, boosting its total to $7.5 million in six years for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities.

Grab your syrup, La Mesa and Mount Helix breakfasters. IHOP will be serving free pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday to celebrate National Pancake Day and raise money for charity.

The restaurant chain hopes to raise $2.3 million, boosting its total to $7.5 million in six years for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities through donations from patrons.

IHOP’s website said: “In return for the free flapjacks, we ask you to consider leaving a little something behind for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other designated local charities.”

Last year, IHOP served 4 million free pancakes. More than $2.1 million was donated to charities, according to a news release. A limit of one free short stack of pancakes per guest is in effect.
