Free Movie Night Every Sunday? @Spacebar Internet Café Is Your Ticket

But manager Patricia Downs needs a better turnout to find out what people really want to see.

With the cost of a movie ticket, concessions and a diet Coke bordering on extortion, it’s nice to hear about the free things La Mesa has to offer. Every Sunday, @Spacebar Internet Café hosts a free movie after hours. And before the word gets out, you can still enjoy prime seating.

“I basically try to do a variety of movies to appeal to different crowds,” said La Mesan Patricia Downs, café manager. “So I don’t stick to one topic.”

But she says not enough people have been attending to get an idea of what people want to see. Usually only about three or four people show up.

“Sometimes one or two, so at this point I can’t really get a poll,” she said. “I’ll be open to any suggestions.”
