AT&T Donates to Local City Heights Clinic

On Friday, Nov. 22, AT&T’s regional vice president Ignacio De La Torre presented a $14,000 check to La Maestra Community Health Center, located in City Heights.

Funding supports La Maestra’s Telemedicine services, a state-of-the-art strategy addressing some of the challenges patients face when accessing specialty care services, such as transportation, eligibility, translation and cultural competency. The services also offer patients over-the-phone mental health counselling and guidance, allowing them to receive specialty care in their “medical home” via telemedicine.

La Maestra Community Health Center’s strives to improve the quality of life in San Diego's City Heights community. The Initiative is committed to employing holistic redevelopment strategies in order to address the multiple factors contributing to urban poverty.
