The Weekend's Best Bets For You and Your Family

Your Patch guide to weekend happiness.

Weather reports call for a cloudy weekend, here in San Diego. Take advantage of the cool weather we’ll have and get out! Besides, there are only two more weekends left until the unofficial end of summer, so milk them for all you can.

This weekend, Aug. 19-21, Mount Helix and surrounding cities have some great activities and entertainment available for all ages. Families can watch a movie at a local church, adults can get their blues on at Sycuan and young adults can laugh out loud to some stand-up comedy nearby.

Head over to Santee and bob your head to some heavy metal music or take the family to the lakes for Toy Story 3. If you’re up for an adventure, travel to the Del Mar Fairgrounds for some food-truck fun and a concert by Devo, where you’ll sing some ironic lyrics after the horse races.
