Lamplighters Community Theatre Offers Comic Relief from "Hot Flashes"

The staged reading of the play tackles the topic of menopause.

What's so funny about menopause? Find out as Lamplighters Community Theatre presents a staged reading of "Hot Flashes," a comedy about the change of life.

“This is a play that provides a lot of laughs and insight into women facing a different stage of life," director Mark Loveless said.

Written by Dori Appel and Carolyn Myers, "Hot Flashes" promises insight that is equally hilarious and sentimental. Co-directed by Loveless and renee levine, the two-act play takes on the hot topic of menopause in nine scenes as characters take on the challenges of growing older—gracefully and otherwise.

The cast features  Jane Harris, Fran Marsh, Kathy Hardman, Michelle De Francesco, Barbra Hoffman and Connie Terwilliger.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, and Saturday, Nov. 23, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24.

Tickets are $15 general admission, $13 students, active military and seniors. For reservations, call the box office at  619-469-6433 or 619-447-2582.

The auditorium is wheel-chair accessible, and there are parking spaces for the disabled in front of the theater. There is also ample, free parking inside the La Mesa Village Station center.
