Mt. Helix Academy Presents "Annie Get Your Gun"

Mt. Helix Academy is proud to announce that tickets are now on sale for its seventh annual musical, Annie Get Your Gun.  This production, featuring more than sixty Mt. Helix Academy students, will be performed on May 4th through May 6th, 2012.

The best shot in town, Annie Oakley manages to use her shooting talents to support her little brothers and sisters by selling the ‘game’ she hunts.  Annie’s sharp-shooting skills are eventually discovered by Col. Buffalo Bill, who persuades her to join his Wild West show.  It only takes one glance for Annie to fall head over heels for dashing shooting ace, Frank Butler, who headlines the show.  Annie soon eclipses Butler as the main attraction, which, while good for business, is bad for romance.  Butler hightails it off to join a rival show, his bruised male ego leading the way, but is ultimately pitted against Annie in a final shoot-out.  The rousing, sure-fire finale hits the mark every time in a testament to the power of female ingenuity.

This year’s production is once again directed by Michelle Foggiano and produced by Bob Meehan, working with a team of dedicated parents and staff members. Previous productions by Mt. Helix Academy include Sound of Music (2011), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2010), The Wizard of Oz (2009), Aladdin Jr. (2008), Beauty and the Beast (2007) and Annie (2006).
