Celebrate the USA

In preparation for the July 4th holiday, the Rancho San Diego Library will celebrate America with an old-fashioned Independence Day festival from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 30. This event for the entire family includes

  • crafts and food for sale
  • antique cars on display
  • games and crafts for the kids
  • free popcorn and cake
  • booths with local organizations
  • music
  • Decorated bike contest and parade

Trails and Rails, a popular ensemble led by Walt Richards and Paula Strong that specializes in cowboy and railroad songs, will perform from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. An audience sing-along of patriotic songs will be part of the program. The kids’ crafts will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 PM. The afternoon will wrap up with a decorated bike contest and parade at 3:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring their decorated bikes, big wheels, strollers, wagons and walkers for the contest and parade.
