Make a trip to Slides Gourmet Burgers at 7406 University Ave. before Jan. 7 to pick your favorite among a series of 50 works of art by Helix High School art students.
The contest started Dec. 6 and will continue and ends Jan. 7.
Submissions include work etched in cardboard, Photoshop designs, paintings and pencil sketches.

Asian fusion sliders restaurant Slides Gourmet Burgers opened Oct. 18, said General Manager Anneke Sindal.
"It's really awesome. When I saw this I thought 'Oh my God. These are high school students?' It's just so awesome how kids can do that kind of thing. I know I didn't have that kind of imagination in high school," she said.

First place gets $50 and $50 Slides gift certificate, second place is $25 and $25 gift certificate and third place gets a $25 gift certificate.
After Jan. 18 the store wants to continue to support the arts in La Mesa, Sindal said. Artists interested in having their work on display free of charge should contact Sindal at 619-461-4462.
