Behind the Scenes of the YAT Production of 'Footloose' - Pt. 4

After all the hype and buildup, opening week is finally here!

Now with only days before opening night for ’s production of ‘Footloose’, the cast and crew couldn’t be busier and the excitement couldn’t be greater!

This past week we thoroughly worked through blocking scenes, cleaning up the dancing numbers and perfecting our pitches.  Whereas our usual rehearsals last from 3-5 hours, this past Saturday was “Super Saturday” where we had a full day of rehearsal, which was followed by our fun-tastic car wash on Sunday morning.

We’ve now begun our “tech week” which means three straight days of full run-throughs of the show with hair and costumes.  We’re working hard to make the show outstanding, and now we just need an outstanding audience to fill our seats!

This week’s video features thoughts on the show from our director and choreographer, Perry Lee, as well as from our main characters Ren—double cast with Kevin McDonald and Anthony—and Ariel, played by Ariana Ramirez.

“Footloose” runs July 7-9 and July 14-16 at 7 p.m.; and July 10 and 17 at 2 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased by calling (619) 670-1627 or by visiting www.yatsandiego.org.
