World Wanderlust: Amanda Escarcega Looks Forward to European Trip

Former Grossmont College student likes to travel―even when it puts her in stinky situations.

Amanda Escarcega’s goal in life is to travel as much as she can as often as possible. In fact, she’s pretty serious about it.

“I want to have the time and geographical freedom to travel,” said the former Grossmont College student as she prepped for a business meeting at the Starbucks on Baltimore Drive.

She’s already checked Mexico, Puerto Rico and several states off her list, and says she’s crossing the Pond next year.

“I’m taking a trip to Europe next year―Italy, Greece, Spain, Amsterdam,” said Escarcega, a San Diego resident who recently started working with Pre-Paid Legal Services through the New York Stock Exchange. “It’ll be whoever wants to go. Right now it’s only a couple of people.”

Her most memorable travel experience so far?

“My aunt had an RV, so we took it from Miami to New York and back,” Escarcega said. “We had to dump the sewage out and I just remember the smell. Now I have this association with RVs and that smell.”
