It’s easy to take the simple things for granted. This weekend, you can show your appreciation for a city luxury that we normally don’t think twice about.
falls on Saturday and La Mesans can show their own park appreciation by helping clean up local parks. It’s easy and free to do and a great way to spend a weekend morning with the family.
Anyone who wants to participate can put on their work clothes and close-toed shoes and head over to their favorite city park, like , or Parks. Bring your gloves and rakes and start picking up dead leaves and trash at the parks. Bags will be provided at each park.
Individuals and groups, like a church or social group, can join in and help out. If you want to organize a group clean up, call 619-667-1300. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and waivers must be signed for them to participate. Click here to download the required waiver.
Want to show your appreciation for our city parks? Visit any La Mesa neighborhood park at 8 a.m. Saturday. Adopt-a-Park volunteers will be at the parks taking sign-ups—just look for the person in the Park Appreciation Day T-shirt. The day will end at noon.
