Sheriff's Department Invites Community to Coffee with the Captain

Sheriff's Capt. Pete Callewaert will hear concerns and exchange ideas on crime prevention.

Spring Valley residents are invited to grab a cup of joe with the area's top cop and discuss crime and safety in an informal setting. Sheriff's Capt. Pete Callewaert will hear concerns and exchange ideas on crime prevention during a free event this weekend.

The Coffee With the Community event is scheduled from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Casa de Oro Branch Library, 9805 Campo Road, Spring Valley. The captain will lend an ear, and provide a hot cup of joe to participants.

Sheriff's Capt. Pete Callewaert has been at the helm of the Lemon Grove Station since May 18, 2012. He is a veteran cop with an extensive background in local law enforcement and military experience.
