In its ongoing effort to serve the community, educate residents about fire safety, and respond to fire-related incidents, the will host the 5th annual "Safe and Sound" fire expo on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rancho San Diego Town Center, at Jamacha and Campo roads.

The 2011 fire expo will share a variety of safety messages to help and encourage residents to better protect themselves, their families, and their homes. In addition many of our other partners in the health and safety arena will share their expertise. The San Diego branch of the American Red Cross, the County Office of Emergency Services, local law enforcement and fire departments from the region represent just a few of our invited participants.

In partnership with the McGrath Family YMCA, San Miguel has created a unique Child Safety Village as part of the Expo. The Village will be a designated zone within the Expo providing children and their families a fun and educational venue where we can deliver our Safe and Sound messages. The venue will include a Mini City where children can peddle their own cars to learn about street safety.
