Rev. McKinney House Ready for Historic Beautification (With Your Help)

The La Mesa Historical Society received an offer to match funds for building maintenance and beautification on the McKinney House Museum and is asking the public for donations.

As La Mesa preps for its yearlong centennial celebration, the Rev. McKinney House Museum also is set to make history. The announced it received an offer from a member to match funds for building maintenance and beautification.

The funds are being donated by an unnamed member in honor of Gordon Jones to show appreciation for his work with the city and Historical Society. The funds will be used to paint the building’s exterior and for the repair windows and crown molding.

“This opportunity is too good to pass up,” said the Society’s Donna Niemeier in a press release. “So the Historical Society is in the midst of raising $5,500 to match the donated funds.”
