Manicures, Malls and Law School? YAT Goes 'Legally Blonde'

The Young Actors' Theatre production opens January 12 at the Joan Kroc Theatre

Like, omigod, if you loved the fun 2001 flick, Legally Blonde starring Reese Witherspoon, get excited!  The is about to kick off the new year with their high energy, high comedy and highly pink production of Legally Blonde: The Musical opening Thursday, Jan. 12 at 7 pm at the Joan B. Kroc Theatre.

Auditions were held last November, and since then the cast and crew have been fervently perfecting more than 15 musical numbers, constructing awesome sets, creating fashion-fab costumes, and of course, making amazing memories along the way.

First opening on Broadway in 2007, Legally Blonde: The Musical is still relatively new to the stage and YAT is pleased to be the first amateur theatre in Southern California to obtain the rights to this award-winning, feel good show.

The story revolves around sorority fashionista Elle Woods, who’s determined to win back her ex-boyfriend, Warner Huntington III, and prove that she’s “serious” by getting her law degree at Harvard Law School alongside him and his group of high-and-mighty scholars.  New friends, lessons learned, and fun catchy tunes make this one show you don’t want to miss!

Fun fact:  Megan Martin, who plays Elle Woods, coincidentally already had her own Chihuahua, “Dida”, who will be playing her dog “Bruiser” in the show.
