Local Homes Appear on YouTube, But Sneezing Pandas Rule the Roost

Also: Mike Conger's Maui connection and Grossmont High School band boosters busy with fun and fundraisers.

Local Realtors are using YouTube as a marketing tool—despite long odds of gaining attention. Real estate agents Jose Moraga and Jeanette Amen listed two Lake Helix Drive properties (east of La Mesa south of Fuerte Drive) on YouTube, complete with envy-inspiring photos and relaxing jazz.

Still, even with the calming music and beautiful views, the sites may be overlooked when sneezing baby pandas compete for your viewing pleasure.  The number of views for 18 Lake Helix Drive?  On Feb. 21, it was 27. Sneezing panda? Close to 8 million in various versions.

MORE ALOHA IN LA MESA: ECP Commercial senior broker associate Mike Conger has a real local connection to the 50th state. He spent a good part of his childhood on Maui, attending school there from fourth grade until he graduated from Seabury School in 1998. Conger still has a lot of love for the Islands, but made his home this side of the Pacific after attending the University of San Diego.

If you’re interested in supporting Grossmont’s young musicians, eat breakfast out March 5. The band boosters are having an Applebee’s fundraiser from 8 to 10 a.m. for just $10 a ticket.

Tickets are available at webmaster@ghsmusic.org. To top off the spring season, the boosters will hold their 16th annual dessert show April 29. Guess the Grossmont band really knows how to make sweet music.
