Oktoberfest runs from Friday to Sunday but street closures on La Mesa Boulevard and blocks nearby begin Thursday at various times depending on the location. Below is a list of some major closures provided by the city of La Mesa Public Works Department.
The following streets will be closed from 5 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Monday:
Spring Street
Southbound and Northbound at La Mesa Boulevard, Close Left Turn Pockets and Right Turn Pocket.
Palm Avenue
Southbound closed between Alley North of La Mesa Boulevard and Alley North of Lemon Avenue. Northbound closed between Alley North of Lemon Avenue and Allison Avenue
La Mesa Boulevard
Closed to all traffic between Acacia Street and Cypress Street.
3rd Street
Closed between Alley North of Lemon Avenue and La Mesa Boulevard.
4th Street
Closed between Alley North of Lemon Avenue and La Mesa Boulevard.
Allison Avenue
Closed to one-way traffic heading west bound between La Mesa Boulevard and Palm Avenue. Closed to Eastbound Traffic between Palm Avenue and La Mesa Boulevard.
Event permit parking only from 7 a.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Monday on parts of Date Avenue, Nebo Drive, Palm Avenue, 3rd and 4th streets and in the Palm Avenue parking lot.
No parking signs will also be posted from 2 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Monday on Allison Avenue between University Avenue and La Mesa Boulevard, Palm Avenue along East curb line between Allison Avenue and University Avenue and Pine Street along East curb line between Allison Avenue and University Avenue.
