The East County Family YMCA recently made the following announcement:
As swim season approaches, the East County Family YMCA reminds kids and adults about the importance of practicing safety when in and around the water.
The Y offers a variety of swim programs in East County, where swimmers can have fun while developing confidence, engaging in physical activity and learning safety skills that can save lives.
“The East County Family YMCA is committed to providing as many opportunities as possible for everyone to learn basic swimming lessons and water safety practices,” said Laura Merritt, Director of Marketing and Development. “We encourage kids and adults to have fun when in and around the water, but to always make safety their first priority.”
In honor of water safety and giving all kids an opportunity to be prepared for the summer heat, the East County Family YMCA is proud to host “SPLASH WEEK” during student’s spring break vacation – March 25th through March 29th and/or April 1st through April 5th.
Join us for a special week of basic swimming techniques and water safety skills for the lowest price of the season! Lessons are designed for beginner swimmers ages 3-13. The weekly rate is $20 for Y Members and $25 for Community Participants. Space is limited. Sign up today!

The East County Family YMCA continues to help youth and adults experience the joy and benefits of swimming, so they can be healthy, confident and secure in the water.
