Ms. Ackley earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree at Point Loma Nazarene University. Her work life included teaching, a principalship, and work with educational technology firms.

She has long been interested in local shore birds, especially the elegant pelicans and herons.  Her paintings also present elements of landscapes, both representational and abstract, as well as pieces drawn from family photos that communicate universal themes about relationships and specific timeframes.

Each genre represents a different way of approaching a topic, a different challenge, an opportunity to create “A Softer View” of the world.

The MTRP Visitor and Interpretive Center is located at One Father Junipero Serra Trail, San Diego, CA 92119, and it is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Admission is free.
