Fuerte Elementary Puts On a Spooktacular Halloween Carnival

On Saturday night, children and their parents arrived at Fuerte Elementary to partake in their annual fall carnival.

The faculty, staff, parents and students at Fuerte Elementary were treated to a "spooktacular" Hallowen Carnival on Saturday night.

Scores of people turned out, and were given goody bags after purchasing tickets.

There was a wide variety of scary Halloween decorations, including a haunted cemetery with a swooping ghost and rambling vampire. After guests meandered past the scary section, there were decorated booths everywhere with games, face painting, goldfish toss, arts & crafts, ring toss, fortune teller and a DJ.

Music played for the cake walk and many of the prizes were cakes unlike any you have ever seen! Every cake was a work of art, at least some sort of art… and edible too!

Tacos y Gorditas catered the event, offering quesadillas, pollo asada and canitas tacos and more. And of course, there were many wonderful costumes worn by both the young students and the adults.  Principal Karen Sapper was in attendance and Mr. Wollitz, the 4th grade science teacher, dressed as his, “Uncle.”
