Antique Street Faire , Explore Mission Trails Day and River Run Sprints Into Weekend

You made it to the weekend, now what? Patch found your weekend events happening May 18-19.

Are you ready to get out and explore the weekend? Lace up your running shoes and race along the San Diego River. Grab your shopping bags and explore the Antique Street Fair or catch the Surge play in Santee. Check out these five events happening around East County.
 
WINE TASTING AND LIVE MUSIC

● What’s Up: Taste a variety of eight wines in style at the Oaks Bar & Grill situated next to the greens at Carlton Oaks Golf Course. Live music will accompany the evening.

SAN DIEGO RIVER RUN 5K RUN AND WALK

● What’s Up: Lakeside's River Park Conservancy will host the 5th annual San Diego River 5K Run and Walk. The race will begin in Santee and end in Lakeside.
● When: 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 18. 
● Where: N Magnolia Ave & Chubb Ln, Santee.
● Price: $25-$40.

EXPLORE MISSION TRAILS DAY

● What’s Up: The 10th annual Explore Mission Trails Day will feature free guided nature walks, activities, talks and programs, live animals and kids programs. 
● When: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. 
● Where: Mission Trails Regional Park, 1 Father Junipero Serra Trl, El Cajon. 
● Price: Free. 

SAN DIEGO SURGE FOOTBALL GAME

● What’s Up: Come cheer and root for the San Diego Surge football team who will take on the Las Vegas Showgirls. 
● When: 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

LA MESA ANTIQUE STREET FAIRE

● What’s Up: Antique Street Faire will celebrate its 10th anniversary. The Faire will include vendors,  food, art, appraisals, live music, flea market and more. 
● When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 19. 
● Where: La Mesa Village, La Mesa Boulevard La Mesa.
● Price: Free.
