Miss La Mesa Pageant Registration Now Available

A La Mesa Princess can be as young as 6 and Miss La Mesa contestants as old as 26. The 2014 Miss La Mesa pageant will be held March 7 at Sonrise Community Church in Santee.

Do you know an outstanding young woman who may have what it takes to be the next Miss La Mesa or Miss Teen La Mesa? 

Applications are now being accepted for Miss La Mesa and Miss Santee pageants to be held March 7 at Sonrise Community Church in Santee.

To qualify to be Miss La Mesa a contestant must be older than 18 and younger than 27. To be Miss Teen La Mesa a contestant must be older than 13 and younger than 18.

Miss La Mesa Princess (ages 6-9) and Junior Miss La Mesa (ages 10-12) programs will be held at the same time but are not competitions and no winners are announced.

Miss La Mesa and Miss Teen La Mesa contestants will be scored in the following categories: Interview (30 percent of total score), physical fitness and beauty (15 percent of total score), speech (15 percent of total score), evening gown (10 percent of total score), on stage impromptu question (10 percent of total score) and poise, personality and overall impression (20 percent of total score).

Along with the title position, awards will be given in categories like Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality, Essay Award, Speech Award and Facebook Fan Favorite.

Another La Mesa company, Top 10 Productions, produces Miss California USA and Miss California Teen USA pageants.

Cassandra Kunze graduated from Grossmont College in 2011 and was named Miss California USA at a ceremony in Long Beach earlier this month.
