SDSU Hosts Meeting and Event Planning Open House

SDSU’s College of Extended Studies will host an open house for its Professional Certificate in Meeting and Event Planning program from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 30 in the SDSU Extended Studies Center.

Between San Diego’s year-round roster of conventions, trade shows, and conferences; and events being stages by local businesses, restaurants and hotels, the demand for event planners is high. It’s so high, in fact, that employees are often tasked with planning events for their company, even if it is not of their skill set.

Whether you’re a planner by choice or by chance, whether you’re new to the industry or a seasoned pro, SDSU's Meeting and Event Planning Certificate offers you the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills in this flourishing industry. This program helps to prepare you for the MPI and ISES exams.

“The instructors are high quality because they have so much experience. The most valuable takeaway has been their real-life examples, where they found themselves in a certain situation or where they had to make a last-minute decision. That has been very beneficial.” ~ Natalie Lewis, benefits analyst, Barney & Barney

“The highlight of the classes and program has been the instructors. They're very talented and experienced meeting planning professionals who share their insights. … They have all opened my eyes to the various avenues you can go in event planning. They also have great and humorous stories from their career to share with us.” ~ Molly Fry, events coordinator, Vistage International
