La Mesa Police National Night Out

On Tuesday, August 6th, the City of La Mesa will participate in the annual National Night Out event. Every August, Neighborhood Watch groups organize fun and informative community events with their neighbors and friends to promote crime prevention and strengthen police and community partnerships.  Members of the La Mesa Police Department and City officials will meet with these groups to share information and field questions about neighborhood and city concerns.

Anyone can participate by visiting National Night Out Central at Grossmont Center in the north Target Store parking lot from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on August 6th for the second Annual Emergency Preparedness Fair. This family friendly event is an informative and interactive way to learn how to prepare for a disaster.

La Mesa Police Officers and Heartland Fire & Rescue Firefighters will be on hand to interact with kids and give tours of emergency vehicles. The La Mesa Police Department will also be offering free child fingerprinting.  Target, the National Night Out sponsor, is generously providing free BBQ to attendees. Additional participants include Jamba Juice, the San Diego County Aging and Independence Services, Farmers Insurance, SDG&E, and Costco.  For more information, call 619.667.7545.
